Yann Vadin’s family have owned their estate since 1785, with vineyards spanning seven hectares across seven Premier and Grand Cru villages in the Vallee de la Marne. The winery specialises in Blanc de Noir wines, although there’s a small portion of Chardonnay. The majority of the wines are 40-years-old, although many are over 70-years-old.

With such excellent fruit to work with, Yann keeps things clean, with low intervention of course in the vineyards, but also in the cellar. Almost all his wines are bottled with no dosage, and Yann has converted the entire winery since 2012 to biodynamic and organic viticulture, attaining certification in 2017. In particular, since 2011 he’s been using concrete eggs for fermentation, which we’ve seen with amazing results for texture on some of our other wineries.

We’ve always loved wines from Cumières, and couldn’t be happier to work with such a promising and young winemaker.
