R. Pouillon et Fils - Brut Soléra NV (1997-2010)
This product is currently sold out.
At his family estate, Fabrice Pouillon makes some of the most intruiging wines to come out of the Vallée de la Marne. This Brut Soléra NV is made from a selection of reserve wines dating back to 1997, all the way to 2010. We brought in 60 bottles this year, and have around a case left.
Seeing as this is how sherry is made, undoubtedly there are comparison to be made. Don't be mistaken, this isn't a Champagne for an aperitif or reception party; this is one meant to drink with food. The nose is reminiscent of Manzanilla—saline, with a touch of apples and nuts. One of the most interesting wines we've had from a grower yet, and you can always read more about it on our blog post here.

Domaine Roger Pouillon is a family winery that is situated in the village of Mareuil sur Aÿ—just a little north of Epernay, and south of the Montagne de Reims.
At the moment Fabrice Pouillon, the third generation in the family of winemakers, makes the wines here after having trained in Sauternes and Chassagne-Montrachet. He's been organic for years, and in 2003 began his conversion to biodynamics.
