Champagne Stéphane Regnault - Mixolydien No°29 NV
This product is currently sold out.
Precision, precision, precision. This is one of the smallest bottlings that Stéphane does, 100% Chardonnay from the 2015 harvest of the single vineyard ‘Le Moulin Oger’ of Grand Cru Oger.
As with all his wines, he judged that only 1 gram of dosage was necessary, providing a gentle cushion away from the austerity that sometimes a zero dosage wine can have. In total there are 2,500 bottles of this made in the vintage, a staggeringly low amount.
This is a richer reflection of Chardonnay compared to both Lydien and Dorien, with 15% of the wine coming from the 2014 vintage, and the remainder coming from 2015.
Annual Production: 2,500 btls
Blend: 100% Chardonnay
Terroir: Chalky soil
Disgorgement Date: June 2020

Drinking Window: 2021-2035
Stéphane’s vines are all Grand Cru, mostly in Oger and Le Mesnil, and his total output is around 10,000 bottles spread across 4 cuvées.
Any businessman would say: why?
Any artist would say: why not?
Before returning to his family vineyards in the Côte des Blancs in 2007, Stéphane was both an aerospace engineer and a sommelier in London. The artistic side of him clearly won out. His first vintage was in 2018, and if his early vintages are any sign of his craft, this is a winemaker to watch.
