Only 10,000 bottles are made each vintage of this biodynamic blend of 70% Sciaccarellu and 30% Niellucciu (a cousin of Sangiovese). They are fermented for 10 months in concrete vats so that the expression of fruit is pure and lively. No oak mars the complex aromas of cranberries, herbs, and blood oranges of Faustine Rouge.
Stylistically it's light and charming, with excellent transparency. Drink slightly-chilled but never warm, and also over the course of several years as it continues to improve. This is just starting to be approachable in 2015.

When Jean-Charles Abbatucci makes wine, he goes all out. This is biodynamic with a capital B. There are groves of ancient olive trees, herds of sheep grazing through his vineyards, and pristine forests along his winery. All his wines are from indigenous grapes that are impossible to pronounce. But my, are they incredible.
Abbatucci is easily the most famous name from Corsica. These wines were distributed across the United States by the great importer Kermit-Lynch, and provide a perfect marriage of French and Italian style.
