  • Back by popular demand as of September 2019! As this was the first wine Stefano produced, he decided to name it “Prologo.” Prologo is Italian for "prologue and this wine was exactly that - an experiment and a prologue to a dream of theirs, to grow grapes and produce wine.

    Prologo is 100% Montepulciano that ferments in concrete and stays in big oak barrels for 18 months. A lusciously soft interpretation of Montepulciano.

  • The family farm is located in Loreto Aprutino (Abruzzo), halfway between the Adriatic sea (20km) and the southernmost European glacier (20km). In the vineyard, which covers 17 hectares at 270-320 meters of altitude, biodynamic principles are applied since 2009.

    The current generation, led by husband and wife team, Stefano Papetti and Nicoletta De Fermo returned to the family farm's vineyards and olive orchards after having successful law careers in Bologna. The winery had not been in use since the mid 1950s.

    Since resurrecting their family's cultural heritage in 2008 Stefano and Nicoletta have proven themselves to be stewards of their land and talented winemakers who understand that the best thing they can do is to intervene as little as possible in the cellar and let Loreto Aprutino do the talking.
