Domaine LePlan Vermeersch - Côtes du Rhône Villages 'GT-G' 2010 MAGNUM 150cl
This product is currently sold out.
LePlan 'GT-G' is a wine meant for sharing with friends, and we've sourced 50 exclusive magnums of it from the finest Rhône vintage of the decade: 2010. These will age beautifully over the next 8 years.
The 'G' (Grenache), needs at least 1 hour of decanting right now, but it rewards with notes of blackberries, vanilla, and violets. Though powerful, most importantly it remains fresh and mineral. Also in 75cl.

"The 2010 GT-G made with pure Grenache starts off somewhat restrained, as it opens, it begins to show some very clean aromas of earthy minerals, white pepper and spices backed by fresh blackberry fruit. This has an elegant presence, shows focus, and is built around a solid structure supported by the fine tannins ending with a spice-tinged finish. Give this a year or so to flesh out a bit. (Best 2013-2018)"

There are a lot of clichés thrown about regarding the wines of Domaine LePlan. Invariably they all refer to proprietor Dirk Vermeersch's racing past. As a former professional rally car driver forced to retire due to a serious injury, phrases like “high-octane” and “full-throttle” are often lazily used to describe his wines.
Yes, these wines are concentrated and rich—this is the Southern Rhône after all. But the first thing we noticed when we drank his wines wasn't the brawn, the power, or the oak—just the freshness. These are powerful wines with elegance and ambition.
