  • 100% Cabernet Franc from a superb vintage for the variety. This will continue to develop very well over the next few years, but it's priced and built to be enjoyed on a day-by-day basis. One of our wines that I would never hesitate to suggest getting a case of if you love the unique earthiness and fruit of Loire Cabernet Franc. We tried Cedric's first vintage (2010) of this in June 2017, and the wine was wonderfully mature with still a few more years left in it.

    This is full of lush, dark fruit with a streamlined elegance and freshness. Green pepper and the earthiness just absolutely scream Cabernet Franc. 30% of the vines are 25 years old, 70% are 80 years old. Grown on a 1 hectare parcel with shale soil, around Rablay-sur-Layon with 3 weeks of maceration, and 1 year of ageing in barrel. Only 4,000 made per year.

  • Cedric Garreau is one of the first producers that we've exclusively imported, and there's a reason why his wines are Cork Culture Classics. He owns and works from just under 3 hectares of vines around Beaulieu-sur-Layon, and makes mainly Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from his winery just near the vineyards, although he is also a master of Chenin Blanc

    He's an impossibly talented young winemaker who only started making wine a few years ago, but his label can now be seen across in the world in France, the US, Tokyo, and now of course Hong Kong. All these wines are naturally made, but with such precision and cleanliness. There's so much varietal character as well, and that's what distinguishes him to us from amongst all the other young vignerons in the Loire. Cedric really brings out the terroir, but with freshness and ambition.
