91-93 Points The Wine Advocate
"The prodigious 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cotes Capelan boasts abundant notes of acacia flowers interwoven with blackberries, black raspberries, licorice, incense and a touch of graphite. The wine hits the palate with tremendous authority, impressive purity, a skyscraper-like texture and a full-bodied, layered finish that lasts for nearly 50 seconds. This remarkable Chateauneuf du Pape has a natural yet seductive feel. Drink it over the next two decades." - Robert Parker
La Ferme du Mont is a 50-hectare estate with vineyards dotted across the Rhone Valley, run entirely through non-interventionist principles. No chemicals or pesticides are ever used in their beautiful vineyards, and these wines represent absolute harmony.
There are many excellent winemakers in the Rhone, but Stéphane Vedeau is challenging the traditional hierarchy with his critically acclaimed wines. Many wines from Chateâuneuf du Pape (just 10 miles away) are getting remarkably expensive nowadays, leaving Gigondas as the insiders choice for fans of these beautiful Grenache-based wines.
